Niagara on the Lake, Ontario:
Thursday night we went to the theater (or should I write "theatre?") in Niagara on the Lake to see "Guys and Dolls." What a fun production - we loved it!!

On our way back to Collingwood, we stopped at the Lake House Restaurant that is just off the QEW in Vineland.  We had a wonderful lunch and a great view.  It was a clear enough day that we could see the Toronto skyline all the way across the western side of Lake Ontario.  When I took the photo with my digital zoom lens open all the way, I captured a clear shot of the skyline, including the CN Tower

Collingwood ON, July 8, 2013:  We've settled into our rental condo and will be here for awhile.  As hurricane season in Florida intensifies, we figure being in the North country is a good escape!  The weather has been erratic, but there have been a few spectacular sunsets over Georgian Bay.  Bob had an outing with a friend up to their cottage near Thunder Bay, across from Christian Island - finally getting a chance to kayak!

From Cape Cod to Ithaca NY to Collingwood, Ontario:

Cape Cod - Atlantic Coast
Cape Cod - Lobster
(what do you expect!!)
Finger Lakes NY Waterfalls

We left Cape Cod after a week of festivities and seeing people we haven't talked to in years - great fun!!  After the Cape we spent six nights in Ithaca NY (Actually Spencer NY at our friends' bed and breakfast.)  and, again, visited with old friends and also took a drive through the Finger Lakes Wine Country.  Then on Friday we drove across the Peace Bridge into Ontario and visited our friends Charlie & Linda, in Ridgeway  (Ft. Erie).  On Saturday we drove up to Collingwood where we'll stay for July.  We were welcomed by our bridge playing buddies, had a surprise party!! - drinks, dinner & three tables of bridge! Wow!  What a wonderful welcome.  To top it off, it was Canada Day weekend and we watched fireworks on Sunday and last night.  Whew!!  Now we can settle in for a month of R&R.

Wellfleet, Cape Cod, MA, June 19, 2013:
Wellfleet on Monday and have settled in nicely.  Basically we are resting up and waiting for the wedding to happen, on Saturday. Yesterday we had lunch at the Orleans Waterfront Inn - but since it was during the day we didn't see any ghosts.  We did sit on the back porch and look out on the water and boats as we ate. We arrived in Wellfleet on Monday and we're just waiting for the wedding on Saturday.

Salem MA, June 16, 2013: Today we visited the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem MA - one our most favorite museums.  (We have been going there since 1976.)   We spent most of our time in the museum visiting the Yin Yu Tang house that was taken apart in China and reconstructed on the museum property - and then we went through the "In Conversation: Modern African American Art" exhibition.Tomorrow we will head out for Wellfleet, Cape Cod!
Gloucester Harbor,Cape Ann MA
Gloucester MA, 6-15-13: Today was a sunny, warm day and all of New England was out and about!!  We worked our way from Windsor, Vermont, to the Gloucester/Rockport area of MA.  It was crowded, but we started by walking around the artist galleries in Rocky Neck and then on to Gloucester. Gloucester isn't the quiet little fishing village it used to be before the book and movie (1997/2000), The Perfect Storm, became popular. The boatyard in Rocky Neck is somewhat hidden away - so it was quiet and we took some photos.  There were two interesting tug boats being worked on that we really enjoyed seeing.
Rockport was busy, but we found a parking spot and walked around with the crowds.  We bought lobster in the lobster shack that is in the middle of all the touristy shops.  (We've been buying lobster there since 1976!)  If you go out the back door of the lobster shack, you will be on the wharf where the "Motif #1" is located.
